Beginning Issue 57

Today production started on Issue 57, Deke Lucero’s portfolio project.  Deke and his team have done a great job of organizing the entire production, so great in fact that we have been having meetings for visual effects well before we started shooting.  I am very excited to be a part of his visual effects team and will be posting updates on our workflow and how we are doing some of these Scott Pilgram type effects.  Right now we are shooting on the Red and transcoding through Redcine-X, and I will be receiving the first visual effects shot tonight, a simple snap zoom out from the antagonist in which Deke wants some light streaks to add an anime-like feel.

Furry Group Photo

Furry will finally be getting finished within the next few months hopefully, after a long break, I’m going to be coming back to it and editing using Media Composer this time.  This will be a new edit completely controlled by me this time, so no more co-editing.  I know the anticipation is killing everyone.

Old Motion Graphics Typography video

This is a video I put together as both a promo and my first attempt at kinetic typography back at the beginning of 2011.

Desecrated Ground

Desecrated Ground TitlesThese are titles I made for a teaser video for a portfolio project that is in pre-production right now.  I created 3D text for the title of the movie that moves forward through smoke.  Everything was created in after effects using stock footage of smoke.  The official website for the movie is desecratedground.com

Waiting for Red footage

I started transcoding all of the Red footage from Furry yesterday into DNxHD so I can bring it into Media Composer.  The process of course is taking a very long time, but by using Redcine-X it’s actually extremely easy.  All I have to do now is wait a few days for all of my clips to be transcoded, so I guess in the meantime I’ll just do some important work like half of my homework that’s due next week and playing Skyrim all night.  I’m not slacking off, I’m just busy waiting for my footage to be done.
